Can I do the TOS Fix with vascular or neurological thoracic outlet?

Can I do the TOS Fix if I have vascular or neurological thoracic outlet syndrome?

If you’ve been told you have venous, arterial, vascular, or neurological Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS), you may be wondering whether the TOS Fix (included in the Shoulder Fix program) is safe or helpful.

In my opinion, it may be worth tryingif your doctor hasn't given you strict instructions to avoid all exercise and you're not on anti-coagulants.

A few important points:

  • These different TOS categories often don’t lead to clear solutions in the medical system.

Even surgeries have high rates of recurrence, and full resolution is the exception, not the rule.

  • The best thing you can do is learn how your body responds to different types of movement and gradually rebuild balance through safe, thoughtful exercises.

Safety tips for working through the program:

  • Pay close attention to how your body responds to each massage, stretch, and strengthening exercise
  • Start slow—don’t attempt the hardest version of any exercise during the first month
  • Focus on perfect form, not intensity or volume
  • Lower the intensity if you feel slightly worse after an exercise

⚠️ If something makes you feel much worse, skip that exercise for now.

Try it again in 2–3 weeks and reassess.

Even with great form and the best intentions, some exercises may aggravate your symptoms.

Don’t panic. That’s part of the learning process.

Keep a journal or take notes:

  • Which exercises feel good?
  • Which ones feel bad?
  • What symptoms show up when?

The more you understand your own triggers, the better equipped you’ll be to address those issues. Over time, you will be able to restore muscle balance and improve how your body feels and functions.

Pay attention. Be patient. Take notes.

That’s the path forward. 💪
