I've got arthritis, bursitis, tendonitis, labrum tear, or something like that...
Are you willing to believe you can get better?
If yes, read on.
If not—honestly, stop reading! Because mindset matters.
Here’s what I’ve learned from personal experience and from digging into the science:
Arthritis on an X-ray means basically nothing.
You can have “terrible” arthritis in your hips, knees, spine, or shoulders—and still have zero pain. This has been studied over and over again.
Labrum tears? Also not a reliable explanation for hip pain.
Many people with labrum tears have no symptoms at all.
Bursitis is another common diagnosis that sounds scary but often doesn’t hold up.
In fact, one study showed that 80% of people diagnosed with hip bursitis had no actual bursa inflammation. The real issue? Weak and irritated gluteal tendons and IT bands.
And here’s a key insight on tendons...
Tendons are part of your muscles. When muscles atrophy, they ache.
That ache is your body asking you to move more, not less.
I’m not a doctor, but I’ve been told more than once to stop exercising and stretching because of “moderate arthritis.” That advice made everything worse.
Careful, smart movement is what made things better.
