Can I do my normal workout while doing an Upright Health program?
If you're doing an Upright Health DIY program to optimize a movement pattern (like the Asian squat) or improve your posture (like the Hunchback Fix), it's okay to keep doing your regular workouts.
If you are struggling with pain issues, the answer is no. It's not recommended. If you are dealing with chronic joint pain, you should pause your standard routine and follow the program as designed.
The Need for Contrast
If you have chronic pain and discomfort, you need contrast and a clear view to fix the problem. If you keep your "normal" routine, you cannot distinguish which movements are helping and which are fueling the pain. You need a clear perspective on what your regular training is actually doing to your body.
Breaking the Cycle
Pain often isn't just "stress"—it is imbalance caused by repeated patterns. By doing the same movements over and over, you have reinforced habits that your body is now protesting.
- The Reset: Commit to 3 to 4 weeks of only the corrective program.
- The Goal: Stop the old patterns to establish a foundation of proper muscle balance.
Long-Term Maintenance
After the initial 3–4 week block, you can slowly reintroduce your regular exercises. Because you have broken the cycle, you will hopefully be able to see where your old habits were failing you.
This perspective allows you to augment your training moving forward—adjusting your "normal" routine to maintain muscle balance rather than falling back into the same painful patterns.
