Do you think injections for hip, shoulder, or back pain are a good idea?
Injections can seem like a quick fix for joint pain, but the relief is usually temporary, and the long-term downsides often outweigh the benefits. Whether it’s cortisone, PRP (platelet-rich plasma), or other types of injections, the scientific evidence doesn’t strongly support their effectiveness in solving the root cause of pain—especially for chronic issues.
Worse yet, repeated injections can sometimes make things worse by weakening tissue or masking symptoms long enough to allow more damage to occur.
My non-medical recommenadtion: look at the bigger picture before going down the injection route.
