I get pinching in the front of my hip doing pigeon stretch.

If you get pinching during the pigeon stretch, you should use the most gentle version you can. The supine version near a wall is your best bet.


In addition, use contractions to improve the strength of your glutes. This puts the sensation in the right place (possibly because it pulls the femur into a better spot and/or because it is waking up the connection to the glutes).
